Booking Terms & Conditions

Booking: At least one member of the party (at least the person making the booking) must be over 18 years of age at the time of booking confirmation. The Contract for a short-term holiday rental will be between the Les Petites Cigognes Owners (referred to as “us” or “we”) and the person making the booking and all members of the holiday party (referred to as “you” or “your”) in the booking conditions outlined on this page. French law will govern the Contract.

The contract of hire is not effective until we have received the deposit.

The contract will be subject to these booking conditions, and must be complied with. If for any reason we have to cancel your booking in advance due to circumstances beyond our control for example fire, flood, exceptional weather conditions, epidemics, destruction/damage to the property (“force majeure“) you will be refunded the full amount of the booking. If we have to terminate your holiday early for the above reasons you will be refunded part of the booking fee based on the time remaining of the booking. No additional compensation, expenses or costs will be payable. No more than the maximum number of persons stated in the booking agreement may occupy the property unless with express written permission from us. Any persons other than members of your party may not use the facilities at Les Petites Cigognes unless with express prior agreement.  We reserve the right to refuse admittance if this condition is not observed.

Taxes: As of the date of this contract, VAT is inapplicable due to article 293 of the CGI (the relevant government law) . If the government modifies this provision, we have the right to modify the amount due to include the applicable VAT level. Other taxes, including the Tourist Tax, are also subject to modification and may be reflected in the total amount to be paid.

Taxe de séjour: A tourist tax is payable at a rate of 1.00€ per adult per night (2025 rate). This is added to the rental price at the time of booking.

Deposit/confirming your reservation: Your holiday reservation will be held upon receipt of 20% deposit or full payment if booking is made less than 8 weeks from the date of commencement.

Final payment and damage deposit: The balance of payment must be made at least 8 weeks prior to arrival. The damage deposit of 250€ will be added to the rental price at the time of booking and returned by bank transfer using the European Central Bank exchange rate on the day of the transfer, less any breakages/damages incurred.

Arrival: Arrival is after 4.00pm on the day of arrival (unless by prior arrangement) as we cannot guarantee the gite will be ready for you.

Departure: The gite must be vacated before 10am on the morning of departure. The gite should be left in the same clean and tidy condition as it was on your arrival. We can arrange for a final clean, please ask for the current cost for your gite. If the property has not been cleaned, the cost of the cleaning will be deducted from your damage deposit.
Cleaning of the barbecue is not included in the cleaning cost above. The barbecue must be left in the same clean condition it was on arrival. If it is not left in the same clean condition a charge of 50€ will be incurred.

Linen and Towels: Linen (sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers) and bath/hand towels are included (not for use in the swimming pool). Beds will be freshly made prior to your arrival. For guests staying longer than one week, clean linen and towels will be provided every Saturday for the duration of your stay. Towels provided must not be washed, if you need a change of towels please ask.

Heating: Electric heating is not included in the price. Logs are also available for the log-burners at an additional cost.

Damages and Breakages: We shall not be liable to you or your party for loss or damage to property howsoever arising. You must take all necessary steps to protect and safeguard your personal property.

Please take care when staying with us. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. We ask is that you do report any incidents when they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages but we may charge you for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant.

You must not use the properties for any dangerous, offensive, noxious, noisy, immoral activities or carry on there any act that may be a nuisance or annoyance to the owner or other neighbouring properties.

You are legally bound to reimburse us in full for replacement, repair or extra cleaning costs on demand.

We shall be allowed the right of entry to the property at all reasonable times for purposes of inspection or to carry out any necessary repairs or maintenance.

Parking: Ample parking is available outside the gites.

Dogs: On occasion we may be able to welcome your furry friend; please contact us prior to booking to see if this is possible. Typically there is no more than one well-behaved dog on-site at any one time. Dogs are only permitted in the public areas when on a lead.

Stag and hen parties: This guest house is not suitable for stag and hen parties.
