Our holiday homes have the charm associated with a modern property whilst maintaining the key features of the stables from which they have been renovated.
Le Grebe is our largest holiday cottage offering 4 large bedrooms and extremely spacious living areas. It has authentic charm (including a wood-burner for winter) alongside modern-day conveniences.
Le Pluvier is set in the original stables of the farm and offers an extremely comfortable, spacious holiday home with exposed beams, sloping ceilings as well as a ground-floor bedroom with en-suite bathroom.
La Colombe is a modern two bedroom holiday cottage featuring the key elements of the stables from which it has been renovated. The master bedroom has lovely views across the local countryside.
Posted onVerified An excellent fortnight's holiday We had a lovely fortnight at Les Petites Cigognes. The gite was clean and comfortable, and we all slept very well. Despite the mixed weather, we were able to use the pool almost every day, and all had great fun. We really appreciated (and made use of) the barbeque, and borrowed bikes one day for an hour cycling the nearby lanes. There are loads of things to do nearby, and Ian and Sandra made helpful suggestions. They are very welcoming hosts and obviously take a lot of pride in making everyone's stay here as pleasant as possible.Posted onVerified Great location, great facilities, fabulous hosts - what's not to like ? Just returned from a week at Les Petites Cigognes - what a great place. The Gites are in a great location - far enough away from civilization to be quiet and really relaxing, but close enough to Descartes and Ligueil to ensure you can easily access anything you might require (including in our case the Doctor !) We stayed in Le Pluvier - three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and really well equipped. The terrace off the main living room is quite, sheltered from the other Gites and allows great views of the sunset. The pool is superb - our 8 year old couldn't believe his luck at being able to swim every day. Ian and Sandra are fabulous hosts - nothing was too much trouble whether it be recommendations on where to go or where to eat, or just help with how to use the BBQ etc. On that basis, I won't make recommendations on which Chateau or town to visit except to say that, if you like Zoos, plan a day at ZooParc de Beauval..... you won't be disappointed.Posted onVerified Fantastic, relaxing and fun family get away. The gite was immaculate on arrival and full of all the home comforts you could possibly need for your stay. This is our second visit to Les Petites Cigognes and again it exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the smaller gite La Colombe as there was only 2 of us. Due to COVID -19 we were unsure if we were going to be able to go but luckily for us we were able to. The gite was immaculately clean and they disinfected high touch areas around the pool regularly throughout the day. We were given our own sun beds to use around the pool which was great. We felt very safe, I can highly recommend staying here. We have spent the last two weeks lounging around the pool and visiting the surrounding areas. We recommend that you visit Loches for a wander around and also visit the market. Ligueil is very small but quaint and has a loverly pizzeria. Descartes is lovely, there is a market on a Sunday and also a nice park with some animals. Overall we have had a brilliant two weeks. Ian and Sandra are fantastic hosts, cannot do enough for you. The have a lot of information to share with regards to the surrounding areas and places to visit. We enjoyed it that much we have booked again for two weeks next year. Thank you Ian & SandraPosted onVerified A place to relax!! We stayed for four nights mid September, at le Pluvier, which is a three bedroom gite at les Cigognes. The gite is well appointed, modern, with all amenities and a beautiful west facing outside terrace, where you could sit supping your wine and watch the sunset. We were very lucky with the weather, at times it was too hot to sit outside, but there are also fans provided in the gite. There is a heated swimming pool, and plenty of games to keep kids amused. Ian was very attentive and hospitable, and nothing was too much trouble. Before the holiday Sandra provided us with plenty of info, and was in contact after the holiday to ensure we had had a good time. The bakers, a short drive away, had the most tasty bread, and there is also an Intermarche about a ten minute drive away. A visit to Loches is a must, and many chateaux are within easy distance. All in all, a lovely gite in wonderful surroundings and we hope to return.Posted onVerified We had a lovely stay at les cigognes! We had a lovely stay in Le Pluvier with our baby daughter. The facilities were excellent and the kitchen was fantastically equipped with everything you’d need to whip up a family meal/bbq and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Les petites Cigognes was a marvellous base from which to explore the area and there was lots of tourist information available. Would highly recommend!Posted onVerified Perfect Holiday This was our second visit to Les Petites Cigognes, and both times we had a wonderful stay. Ian and Sandra are wonderful hosts who make you feel very welcome. The gites are extremely well equipped and comfortable, with a lovely pool and boule pitch in a very quiet, rural setting. A very good location for getting off the tourist trail and experiencing some beautiful rural villages of France, but also handy for visiting larger towns such as Loches and Tours. We are already looking forward to our next visit next spring.Posted onVerified Birthday treat Our friends bought this 4 night break as a present for my 'significant' birthday. The four of us stayed in the end three bedroom gite which was fully equipped, spacious with a nice terrace facing the evening sun - perfect for a BBQ and a few glasses of wine. Each gite has its own enclosed garden and clearly Sandra and Ian have given much thought to ensure that you have everything you need for a pleasant stay - apart from the pool, there is a mini football pitch and other garden toys and games so if you have kids they should be happy. We used the gas BBQ for each of our 4 nights having shopped at Intermarche in Descartes about 10 mins. away. There is also a great bakers at the other side of Cussay. Perfect location for visiting the chateaux of the region, we went to Azzay and would recommend going there. Loche and Descartes are both well worth a visit, the former for the market and the Old Town and the latter for the lovely park walks. We didn't meet Sandra but Ian was really friendly and helpful and joined us for a few pre BBQ drinks one evening and we had a great time with him. Definitely recommend this place if you are considering visiting the Loire Valley area. Run by an English couple, it had a very private rear garden facing West so it was nice to have the sun whilst eating out in the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Pluvier. A very comfortable gite with room for six people, we particularly appreciated the downstairs bedroom with en suite. Two further bedrooms were upstairs, one en-suite and one family shower room. It was immaculately clean and well appointed. Sandra and Ian were very welcoming and even left a bottle of wine, a very welcome touch! Well kept grounds included a heated swimming pool. Lots of places to see nearby! We are sure to go again!
