La Colombe

I have been arranging holidays in France since 2005 and without doubt, this gite has the highest specification of any I have stayed in. Everything is very clean and tidy, everything we’ve needed is on the doorstep and the weather has been perfectly good too! There are many excellent restaurants nearby too.

Another wonderful stay, this time 5 weeks in paradise! Everything was again perfect in the gite. Ian and Sandra were great hosts as always. There are so many things to see and do for ourselves, our children and grandchildren. The peace and relaxation we enjoy here is second to none and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Very relaxing week in a lovely gite. Pool came in very useful as temperatures soared to 38°. Favourite restaurant – La Mandoline in Ligueil, sit on the terrace among the flowers and enjoy the view of the church. Favourite cultural experience – Medieval city and chateau in Loches. Top three wildlife encounters 1. Watching swallows swoop down to the pool for a drink seconds after you have got out of it 2. Massive toad hanging around the back door. 3. Friendly patio lizards that wave at you!

Our second time here and we’ve had a wonderful week again, with even better weather than in 2014. We’ve enjoyed the pool and beautiful grounds, the bikes and many a game of football and swingball, along with the obligatory barbecues and many an evening on the terrace watching the sunsets over a glass of wine.
Days out included Loches, le Grand Pressigny, Chinon, Azay-le-Rideau and the spectacular gardens at Villandry.
Thank you again for your warm welcome. We love it here and the children are already talking about coming back.

This was our first stay at Les Petites Cigognes after a recommendation from our friends, what a wonderful holiday we’ve had. There is nothing we would change, you’ve thought of everything and Sandra’s home cooked meals are amazing!

We did so enjoy just sitting on the patio of the gite for most of one day and an evening. It was so quiet and peaceful we just chilled out. Our only disappointment was that we found the patisserie in Descartes on our last day!

A beautiful gite in a beautiful area. The pool is fantastic. Visited Loches, Chinon, Chateau Riveau (fantastic for children), as well as the ‘family park’ which was perfect for under 8’s. Kayaking at the Bas de Loisirs in Descartes is a must too.
